Claudia Maddux – Department Head

This department has the greatest HARMONY in the church!! I have led this department since 1988 and love worshipping the Lord. We have a wonderful WORSHIP TEAM who lead the congregation into praise and worship each Sunday morning, and Sunday night. I lead the band on Sunday mornings and Michelle Barsana leads the team on Sunday nights. We have rotating singers, drummers, percussion, bass players, guitar players and a regular sax player. We love to express our praise with clapping, jumping, dancing, lifted hands, or however you feel to praise. We want everyone to feel comfortable however they choose to express their worship to our great & majestic God.

We have a FLAG TEAM that express their worship with flags choreographed together during the worship time, and also minister during the offerings now and then. This ministry was birthed by April Henneforth and now is directed by Christina Ortega. A Children’s & also a Youth flag team have just begun as well. More info.

We have a school of CLAY, which is a training school for musicians & worshippers, lead by Michelle Barsana, which is training future musicians & worship leaders as well.

Taking It To the Nations:

I have led worship with our worship band in OUTREACHES through the years in such places as: Leading worship with our band in crusades in Romania; we took our band as well to Thailand and ministered at a worship conference; on floats in the Poway Days Parade a few times; leading worship in Orange county at a crusade meeting; at a Halloween outreach in Hollywood at the Oasis; also at a couple crusades in San Diego with Carlos Anacondia & Claudio Friedzon; as well as Evangelism Conferences in San Diego. I lead worship at the Steve Hill meeting here in San Diego with our band. I have held worship conferences in Vietnam (secret); Colombia; Romania; Thailand and Marshall Islands. I sang with Silverwind at the first “Jesus Festival” in Bulgaria. I ministered in song or lead worship in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Congo, Kenya, Uganda, Morocco, India, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, England, France, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Marshall Islands, Nepal, Bhutan, Canada & Mexico.
